About Advanced Material Processing (AMP)

AMP is a newer platform company for May River Capital (May River), a Chicago-based private equity firm focused on lower middle market industrial growth companies. Focusing on material processing, AMP combines industry leading, complementary material processing equipment manufacturers to advance engineering capabilities for customers. AMP focuses on sectors like food and beverage, pharmaceutical, nutraceutical and chemical, as well as emerging markets like cannabis.

The two companies that make up AMP are Kason Corporation and Marion Process Solutions. Headquartered in Milburn, NJ, Kason has nearly 50 years of experience designing and manufacturing screening, drying, cooling and processing equipment. The company serves a range of industries including food, pharmaceutical, chemical, plastic, energy, minerals, aerospace and defense. Marion Process Solutions, an 80-year-old company based in Marion, IA, custom manufactures processing solutions with industrial mixers and blenders, as well as microwave vacuum drying systems. Marion focuses on food, nutraceutical, mineral, plastic, chemical and biomass industries.

May River Capital is a Chicago-based private-equity firm focused on investing in lower middle-market industrial growth companies. May River invests in high-quality industrial growth businesses, including precision manufacturing, engineered products, specialized industrial services, and value-added industrial distribution businesses. 




Brad Sterner

Executive Chairman and Board Member, Advanced Material Processing

Former operating executive at Colfax, Rexnord, IDEX, Danaher and Emerson, Brad specializes in high value manufacturing and engineered products. He has extensive operations and M&A experience and is the current CEO of Hunt Valve, Executive Chairman and Board Member of Advanced Material Processing, and Executive Chairman and Board Member of Industrial Flow Solutions.

Graeme Hill

Chief Financial Officer, Advanced Material Processing

Graeme joined Kason as Chief Financial Officer in September 2017 and following the sale of the business to May River Capital in August 2019, he assumed the role of CFO for AMP. Prior to joining Kason, Graeme spent 14 years with Rotex, another market leader in the material handling capital equipment market. Graeme graduated from Liverpool University with an Honors Degree in Business.

Henry Alamzad

President & CEO of Kason Corporation

Henry started his career at Kason as an Applications Engineer in 1988, was promoted to VP sales and marketing in 1998 and became president in 2004. Henry holds an MBA in Marketing from New York Institute of Technology, a master’s degree in chemical engineering from City University New York and a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from University of Rhode Island.

Lee Eilers

President and CEO of Marion Process Solutions

Lee currently serves as President and CEO of Marion Process Solutions, the industry leader in custom design mixing and blending solutions. He has also been involved in numerous successful start-up ventures, including a financial services firm in Naples, Florida and an independent distributorship of Herman Miller, Inc.'s commercial furniture products in Dallas, Texas. He earned his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Iowa, and his MBA from the University of Saint Thomas, in St. Paul, Minnesota.
